I am the never-ending story...

DSC02566
Congrats to Kashala and Brandy for tieing the knot! Woohoo! Always fun at weddings, esp the fam ones. They got married at the LA River and Garden Center...or something like that. First outdoor wedding I've been to this year, it was awesome. Got a little cold at night, but it was all to the good. I can't wait to see all the in-laws for Christmas!

Memory
Memory is a strange creature. I don't know exactly how it all works, like how you forget certain things but remember completely random information. For example, once Jos and my piano teacher picked us up from our apt I think for our piano lesson. She got into a really minor fendor bender(fendor or fender?)...anyway...so she gets in this mini-accident and tells us to remember the license plate of that car. To this very day I still remember it...2BJY709. Now of all the facts in the world to remember...why is that one so vivid? I wish you had a way to select which memories got filed away forever and which ones could go into the shredder after a while. Like stuff that gets locked away in the vault opposed to putting it on the desk so that when you do your occasional cleaning up, you just trash all the non-important stuff. I still remember our first phone number when we moved to California (213) 559-2367, then it changed to 310 later on. What I'll ever use that information for, I have no idea...maybe I should make it a password, but nevermind now that I frickin mentioned it for all the glorious world to see...

The ABC's of me
I need to start reading again. Books. I used to be such a voracious reader..but then work and activity amongst a million and a half other things seemed to always get in the way. Lately, I've stayed at home a little more than usual, so I figured, hey, I'll get the chance to read soon. I wanted to read last night...but I was up late working. At least I got to work from home. But I really wanted to get back into reading. I have several books I need to get through. I still want to re-read my Theory of Poker book, finish Millionaire Mind, and pick up the Kyte Runner. I used to read so much back then...and I would definitely like to get back into it. If I don't have too much to do tonight for work, I'll read tonight. Yeah, read instead of watching Sports Center at 2AM...I tend to fall asleep quicker when I read. I know it seems to say something about reading, but i just think it's the atmosphere...it's quieter, and you're just more chill...so it's easier to fall asleep, even when the book is pretty good. I have stayed up til the wee wee hours though reading, so it can be just as bad as watching TV all night. Just gotta discipline yourself and stop at a certain point, cover your eyes and go to sleep I guess. Maybe since I have to travel a bit again soon, I can read on the plane...I think that's how I read so much before...business trips. Yup, I sure am boring....

Ryan's in Hawaii, lucky bastard...

I am the break between chapters....

Happy Anniversary to my beloved mom and pop!!!!

Rolly Poly...that's such a funny word to me. It makes me feel like a kid, rolly poly. he he he. I'm seriously chuckling to myself right now. Kinda like how the word "dummy" makes me laugh too. From now on, when I'm down I'll just say, "rolly poly" to pick me up...hopefully that works.

When unbending policies are just absolutely ridiculous... - Is there is no sympathy and understanding in this world anymore???

Today ended up busier than I wanted it to be....I'll write next week I guess.

I am the return of American frickin Gladiators...

Of Rolly Polies and childhood memories...
I remember back in the day when I used to collect these little suckers. They were always so interesting to me. Little pill-lookin bugs with legs that just run around and rolling up into a ball when in danger. I would actually pit them against other bugs like ants and spiders and unfortunately, they always lost. I guess strength in numbers is true even in the insect world. I thought the spider would like web all those suckers, spider-man style. Anyway, I was smoking the other day and I was watching a rolly poly walkin around in the grass. I'm not really sure what those things do, look for food, just walk around or what...but it was funny to watch it. It would keep falling off blades of grass and just keep going, it would land upside down, right itself up and then get right on goin again. How clumsy of a bug is that? Just fallin all over the place? Maybe it was a little kid rolly poly and was still learnin how to move around? Or maybe it was drunk, he he he, drunk bugs, that's a funny thought. Must be nice to have that exo-skeleton to protect you from falls like that..I would have to equate the falls it was taking to 2 or 3-story falls from us. That would be cool. It's actually cooler to just be able to climb straight up on things like bugs can. But yeah, goin back to the first line, I remember when I used to collect these little suckers. How simple life was back then...my day consisted of going outside and running like there was no tomorrow and then collecting bugs and pitting bug-wars in a jar. Ahhh, the simplicity of childhood...just for one day, I wish I could go back...

Of songs and of love...
Shit has been SO busy lately I totally forgot to write about this. There was this old man that used to sing at my church that came about a month ago. All they told us was that he was gonna sing some meditation song, the Panis Angelicus, which is a very awesome song, especially when someone who can really sing sings it. He was about 84 years old, and was somewhat frail looking; he had a cane and had to have his daughter help him around when he was walking. So the choir is thinking, wow, that's cool that he's gonna sing. When he was about to come on, we asked him to come over to where the mics were at, and he said he didn't need one. WOAH, I thought, no mic? That's gonna be hard for everyone to hear him. So the organ goes, and his line starts...BANG! He belts out the first few notes like they were nothing. It was absolutely amazing...his ability to project was incredible, and he sang it w/ such feeling and emotion. Now, I've been a lot more emotional since the summer started, and I have to say I teared up a bit when he was singing. After he was done, we had to give him a big ovation, because it was just simply beautiful. And then we found out from the Pastor that it was his wife's 14th-year death anniversary, and he sang it for her...there is so much beauty in music...there really is. And I wish more people could have witnessed it.

Anyway, better get back to work...work work work....
